Derby believes that the main threat would be the high temperature

Male', MALDIVES -
Malaysian outfit Perak’s English coach Steve Derby is worrying about Maldives weather ahead of their AFC Cup clash against New Radiant, tomorrow. In a press conference held at FAM house, Derby said they believe they can win tomorrow’s game but high temperature weather will be a problem for the players.

“I believe we can win the game but to play at 38 degree celsius will have an impact on players” He said.

Derby further added that New Radiant is a very strong side and highlighted that their Sri Lankan keeper is an outstanding one.

“I have seen Sadun’s performance before and he is a really a good keeper”

Derby has good information of New Radiant’s former striker Ali Ashfaag, who played for Brunei’s DPMM FC in the early stage of Malaysian Super League this year and played against Derby’s Perak in the league.

“I am very happy that Ashfaag (Dhagadey) is not playing for New Radiant this year, he is a difficult player to mark”

“My target is to win 12 points in the group stage; that is by wining the three home games and one of the three away games. So tomorrow’s game is a vital one”

“Three of our Chile players will be able to play in tomorrow’s game that will make the team stronger” He said.

38 degrees?..where did he get this information?..i dont think we in maldives has ever had a day hotter then 34 degrees and also thats very rare, these days the temperature is more likely 32-33 degrees..but we must put in to count the rain we have been having these days, therfore i expect to rain tomorow so the temperature wont go beyond 29 degrees. And btw i hav lived in malaysia and the temperature there is always 34-35 nowadays so why will the temperature here be any hotter for the playrs?.bizzare comments from derby
